Positioning & layering
In the Video Editor you place elements freely on the preview canvas and stack them in layers. Layering and picture-in-picture need Full mode, where elements can overlap.
Move, resize, align
Section titled “Move, resize, align”- Move — drag an element on the canvas.
- Resize — drag its corner handles (hold to keep proportions where offered).
- Layer order — an element on a higher track sits on top. Drag tracks up/down in Full mode to change what’s in front.
Put an avatar in a corner (picture-in-picture)
Section titled “Put an avatar in a corner (picture-in-picture)”Show a presenter as a small overlay in the corner while a photo or video fills the frame:
- Switch the timeline to Full mode.
- Add the background first — an image or a video clip — and size it to fill the frame.
- Add the avatar on a track above it.
- Select the avatar, resize it smaller, and drag it into a corner.
- Give it a Circle or Square frame shape for a clean PiP look, and a Frame Border if you want it to stand out.
Transparent-background avatars
Section titled “Transparent-background avatars”Instead of a framed corner, you can cut the avatar out so the scene behind shows through — the presenter appears to stand directly in your footage.
- Select the avatar and turn on Transparent background in its Properties.
- Place the avatar over an image or video (Full mode), on a higher track.
- The background element plays behind the cut-out presenter.
Use it for a “presenter in the room” look, or over a moving parallax shot. If the edges look off for a particular avatar, a framed shape (Circle/Square) is a reliable fallback.
Next steps
Section titled “Next steps”- Elements & scene types — the pieces you’re arranging.
- Link a visual to a voiceover — keep layered elements in sync.
- Grouping elements — move several as one.
