Link a visual to a voiceover

You can link a visual element to a voiceover (a spoken-narration element) so the visual’s timing is tied to that line. When the narration moves or changes length, the linked visual follows automatically — no more nudging clips by hand to keep picture and voice in sync.

This works in Full mode, where elements can be positioned freely and layered.

  • Switch the timeline to Full mode (the Scenes / Full toggle above the timeline).
  • Have both pieces on the timeline: the visual (image, video, or avatar) and the voiceover line you want it to follow.
  • Keep a photo on screen for exactly as long as its narration lasts.
  • Make an image start the moment a sentence begins, or end when it finishes.
  • Re-time the narration later and let every linked visual re-flow with it — instead of fixing each clip.
  1. Grab the edge of the visual element (its start or end).
  2. Drag it onto the voiceover element you want it to attach to.
  3. Release when it snaps — that edge is now linked to the voiceover’s matching edge.

Open the link control on the selected element to choose the target exactly:

  1. The panel shows a map of your tracks so you can see every element.
  2. Pick the voiceover element to link to.
  3. Choose which edge attaches — the visual’s start or end — to the voiceover’s start or end. The current link (if any) is highlighted.
  4. Apply. The visual re-times to match.
  • Move or re-time the voiceover and the linked visual moves and resizes with it to keep the two aligned.
  • A visual can follow the narration’s start, its end, or span the whole line, depending on which edges you linked.
  • Re-link by dragging the edge to a different voiceover, or picking a new target in the Link panel.
  • Unlink by dragging the linked element manually — moving it by hand clears the link so it stays put.
